Treasure Journey

Roll the dice, answer the square's challenge, and mind the traps until you reach the treasure

🗺️ How is it played?

A board of 16 squares between the flag and the treasure. Every roll moves the pawn, and every square you land on poses a challenge from the passage itself. A right answer earns a star and keeps you there; a wrong one sends you back a few squares.

  • 📜 Challenge square: a missing word, the next verse's opening, or put the words in order.
  • 🎁 Gift square: a star with no question.
  • 🕳️ Trap square: a harder challenge, worth two stars or a longer fall back.

The review a child asks for

A child who tires of recitation never tires of dice. In Treasure Journey the pawn advances by luck, but staying put takes memorization: every square asks about the same passage in a different way, so the child reviews their verses ten times while thinking they are playing.

🎲

Luck moves, memory holds

The dice decide how far the child moves, but a wrong answer sends them back. The treasure is only reached through right answers.

📜

Three kinds of question

A missing word, the next verse's opening, and words to put in order. The distractors come from the passage itself, not random words, so guessing does not work.

🧭

A review list at the end

On arrival the teacher sees the numbers of the verses the child missed and the kind of mistake, and knows what to review next lesson.

Start with a passage the child knows

Pick a short surah the child has memorized and play one journey together. Within minutes you will know which verses are solid and which need work, then carry on with the rest of the memorization games.

The treasure sits at the end of the board; the memorization is the road to it.
